my deepest apologies for not having an interesting life lately. not interesting enough to blog about. but things are rarely boring around here.
for starters, this weekend I decided to be sportif and go play baseball with some french people from church. it was interesting, to say the least. and then i fell. i was running from third base to home plate and got caught off guard and tripped over my big feet. yay. i brushed it off and acted like no big deal but over the next few days it started to hurt so badly that eventually I gave in to everyone's commands and went to the doctor. my host mom reserved an appointment for me yesterday and I hobbled on down my hill to the center of town for my first adventure with a french doctor. it wasn't so bad. until afterwards when I had to pay him 23 Euros for a pretty little bandaid he put on my knee and told me to keep it clean. K, thanks! So, thats the last time I play sports for a while. But good to know I am not dying. yet.
Also, this past Sunday was May 1. May 1 is also Labor Day for Frenchies here. Lucky for me I had no idea that it was a holiday. Lucky for me I had no idea it was a holiday where the buses did not run. Lucky for me, my host family is very understanding and when I called them to come get me from the train station on Sunday evening they were willing. Geez. Good thing I am aware that this next Sunday is also a holiday. I will keep that in mind.
I leave for London tomorrow morning. I am so eager to get out of Paris for a few days. So eager. Almost to the point where its all I can think about. I am going to a church conference, Hillsong, to be exact. I need this time. I will return Saturday evening and enjoy Sunday in the city before starting another wonderful week of being an Au Pair. (Love my sarcasm?)
So, there are some changes coming my way and I'm not ready to expose all the details yet (mainly because I don't know the details yet) but I will as soon as I have the ok to do so. And by ok, I mean, that things are confirmed and set in stone. Who knows when that will be, but I'm eager to see where the next 6 months takes me. I am just praying it doesn't take me back to Texas (sorry, ya'll, but I just am not ready for that life again).
In other news, I am in spring cleaning mode today so I will let you lovely people get back to your regularly scheduled programs and I will return to cleaning. :-)
Love you all and miss you all, me
