This has to be quick because I have so much to do in the 28 minutes I have before I need to leave to start the weekend:
1. the other night when I was on my way back from Paris, it was about 11:15pm, I got to the train station to catch my train to my town to pick up my car to drive home (yes, I cannot wait until I no longer have to take multiple forms of transportation just to get somewhere) and there are no trains going to my town. whaaaat? Story of my life. Thankfully I am a pro at this type of thing and jumped on the next train which happened to arrive in the middle of my shock and confusion (there was no reason why the trains shouldn't have been running properly, darn French) and called my awesome friend who lives in the town next to mine. She actually picked up the phone (not normal for her) and was on her way home from being out as well and agreed to pick me up in one town, drive me to another to pick up my car and then she had to drive back to her town from there. Yes, this was all at about midnight. I have awesome friends, yea? I think so.
2. Today is the 2nd time this week I have not had to work in the afternoon. I am ready for my next job. Not complaining, just saying. I maybe worked 7 hours this week and thats stretching it. Seriously! I like working.
3. I have three interviews this weekend. I have 2 last weekend and they both went great but I am not stopping there. I told y'all that God has been providing like crazy and in in his perfect timing and wow. As my dad put it in a text last night, "when it rains it pours" except this time its a good pour. Speaking of pouring, its actually raining right now. the first time in several weeks. while its annoying to have to be out in, i'm thankful that its back to normal Paris weather. Ok, back to the interviews, I am excited to see where I am going to end up next year. I waiting to hear back from the first two and in the mean time why stop there? So, we'll see how this weekend ends up.
4. I have to say good-bye to yet another friend this weekend. I was warned about this part of living abroad when I first moved here and threatened never to leave for this reason, but it sucks! I hate having to say goodbye to such awesome people, not knowing the next time you will see them. This is awful part of living here. I hate it.
5. Yesterday I was talking to Clemence and she now has taken on my obsession with painting her nails. I change my nail color at least once a week if not more (I feel sometimes as if I single-handedly keep OPI and the nail polish remover companies in business) and so I end up painting her nails often as well. I painted both of our nails on the same day this week and yesterday I looked at her hands and her nails were all chipped and a lot of the polish was gone. When I asked her why her nails looked the way they did and mine were still perfect she said to me, "je suis une jeune fille" translated means "i'm just a little girl" hahaha. Really....thats why the nail polish won't stay on your nails? Interesting.
6. This afternoon my host mom brought in the mail and there was a card for me....from ELLEN!!! As if I needed to be reminded how blessed I am because I have been so blessed lately, she sent me an amazing card reminding me how much I am loved. I can't thank you enough Ellen for being such an incredible friend from so far away! THANK YOU!
7. Next week I only work THREE days. Yep, you read correctly! THursday morning, bright and early, myself and 2 other friends will be headed for Vannes, France. I. Can. Not. Wait! I love holidays! That is a French characteristic I have adopted and if I ever moved back to the States I will have a hard time readjusting to that part of the American culture (no holidays)
8. Happy Memorial Day weekend my American friends. While y'all are celebrating Memorial Day, the FRench are celebrating mothers day!
Anyways, i guess that wasn't too quick but it is because I am not proof reading it before I publish. Just thought I'd give you people something to read before the weekend started. Yay for weekends!
Things I am looking forward to this weekend:
-my interviews....they are kind of fun!
-family brunch (will explain later)
-playing cards with Maya tonight!
-picnic in the park
-no curfews
-and being one week closer to the next chapter starting....yay!
Miss you all!!!
Love, me
