a new blog

I am starting a new blog for those who are interested. It's a blog about what all God is doing in my life, teaching me, doing through me, etc. These blogs will be kept separate as the themes are different. This blog is about the randomness of my life here in Paris, is it even that interesting? And the other is strictly about my faith. Although they both have a France theme, I mean, France is my life now.

Anyways, just thought I'd share and let you guys  know there is new reading material from me: Lifechangingawe <----click here!

Anyways, in other news: yesterday I didn't have to work in the afternoon (a whole nother story that I probably won't share because there is not a whole lot of positivity to it) and I was bored and about to go insane (or how i felt) so I left by bus to St. Germain en laye, the next town over, to go to a film. I had looked up the time and was really interested to go to the movies because this is a very small town and I had no clue what the experience would be like. Well, in France, when you go to a movie there are several different types: VO, VF and something else I guess. I don't go very often so I'm not the best to explain. Anyways, one is where the movie is dubbed in French and the other is where its the original movie but with French sub-titles. The only offers you have to see an American movie here. Anyways, for obvious reasons I prefer the non dubbed but the original (with sub-titles). Well, I didn't really check to see what the option for the movie I was going to see yesterday was but I showed up, the movie started....and it was in French. Yea baby! I'm not going to lie, I was rather annoyed at the beginning. i was already in a weird mood from having nothing to do all day and here I was, having paid 6Euro50 to watch an American movie dubbed in French. Talk about annoying. But, you know what, I gave it a chance and it ended up not being so bad. The movie I saw was "Water for Elephants" and while I can't tell you exactly everything about the movie, I was able to follow it quite well. Actually, I was so proud of myself afterwards for actually understanding a large portion of what was said in the movie. It was hard to understand a few characters voices but I followed most of it and I even learned a few new phrases. So, all in all, what I thought was going to be a crappy situation ended up being a learning time and quite entertaining. Not so sure I'd choose to go see another American film in French (my attention span is that of a 5 year old on a good day) but I wouldn't walk out if I was in this situation again. :-)

And...I am so proud of the spring cleaning I did yesterday! My room is looking so much better. I am working on getting rid of a lot of stuff, mostly the stuff my friend gave me this past weekend when she couldn't take so much back to the States with her. Somehow though I have accumulated so much stuff in the past 9 months its unreal. I didn't think I had shopped so much, and really I haven't, really what it is is that I have had so much stuff shipped over. I started with 1 box (rather large box) and 2 suitcases and now I probably will have 3 suitcases and a few boxes. I mean, I did HAVE to buy snow boots and they aren't small either.

Anyways, its another beautiful day in Paris and I have my bible study tonight so I am excited to get out of this awesome town and into the city I love. Only 5 more weeks. only 5 more weeks.
