I was granted a bank account yesterday!!! woo hoo!!!
So i went to go get a cell phone today. I should've known it wouldn't be so easy. NOTHING has been easy so far. haha. I have to have my actual "carte bleu" credit card in my hand before they will let me purchase a cell phone. I almost was tempted to hand them my US credit card but stopped myself once I started thinking about the exchange rate and fees my bank will charge me each month. :-(
So now I am back to waiting and being patient (which I still am not good at) and back to switching between using my French phone that doesn't work and my US phone that does work but is roaming.
I can receive calls on my French phones and I have to return them from my American phone.
I am so grateful that tomorrow is Saturday and I am going into Paris tomorrow hopefully to enjoy a day of being a tourist again. I cannot wait!!! ...well, I am learning to wait, so I will!!!
Oh and just fyi: I realized why the French are such small people...they DON"T eat!!! I feel hungry all the time. I'm trying to figure out just what I used to eat that filled me up...maybe it was all that nasty greasy food. And they don't eat meat here!! Yesterday I went the whole day without even the sight of meat and I almost cried myself to sleep. I guess I am that American to where I CRAVE meat. A nice hearty steak sounds really good right now. Some mashed potatoes. Maybe some broccoli. And some cheese slices...the colby jack kind please!
Well, thats all for now! I told you my life would not stay so interesting and it has not... Possibly this weekend will prove to be the opposite as I'm not sure what Paris has in store for me. I do know however that I will be attending a 'bird market' on Sunday. I am super pumped about this as I have no clue what to expect. And no I will not be buying a bird. lol.
