La Rentrée

Today is the first day back to school for French kids and also my first day of working. This is also another first in that it is the coldest first day of school in the fall semester ever! (that i have experienced) Anyways, I walked with the kids to school today and dropped them off and met their teachers so hopefully as the semester goes on, I will be able to speak better French, thus being able to mingle with the parents and teachers better than Bonjour! Au revoir! :-)

I took some pictures of my cute kids on their first day of school.

Also, last weekend my host mom (pictured above for the first time I think in this blog) made fajitas. They were from a package that is being promoted at the Carrefour right now, I found the isle at the grocery store and posted pictures in a previous post. She even had guacamole from a jar (not that great, I'll have to start making my own i think) and salsa. It was a great lunch, made me feel a little more at home. I miss mexican food and dr pepper almost more than i do the people, haha. just kidding. Also, anyone notice when they look that i'm drinking rose wine with fajitas?? is that weird??? I just thought about that, but since we have wine with every meal that didn't even cross my mind then. Oh well.

and just because she's that cute!

Oh, and if you read this, please say a prayer for me this morning (well, morning for you guys) as at 2:30pm my time (7:30am your time if you're in Texas) I have a meeting at La Poste to open a bank account and I really need this to go smoothly and efficiently. Hopefully by the time everyone is up and showered I will be one step closer to being a french resident.

Love you guys and hope everyone is enjoying the end of their summer/beginning of the school year!!!

Love, Me
