Days 7 & 8: Venice

The last 2 full days of our trip were spent in Venice, Italy. OH MY GOSH is it beautiful there. If you've never been, you HAVE to go, I demand it. And if you have been, we probably agree its in the running for one of the most beautiful places ever, right? Venice was the perfect place to end our trip. It's relatively small, compared to Rome and Florence. It was surrounded by water which is always a favorite. You could get lost and never really be lost, all at the same time. We didn't have to plan anything, we just wandered around and went where ever our feet guided us. We had lunch at 3pm, took a nap at 6 and ate dinner at 9. We watched the sunset, sat on the edge of the island with our feet dangling out over the ocean and enjoyed our time as it was fading away and before we knew it, we'd be back in Paris and back to the real life.

the sun was out this day, and it was beatiful!

Alison and I couldn't exactly find out hostel immedietly upon arrival
so here we are resting in the warm sun while trying to figure the map thing
out. Did i mention she was the naviational goddess?

this was a famous bridge, too lazy to look it up, but we didn't actually get
a picture of the bridge, just us on it.

this was when I was craving lunch at 3pm. Italians don't eat at
3pm so we were all by our lonesome.

an open-air market.

the church was flooded.

the gondola's were too expensive so we opted for the water metro instead, 6.50 Euro.

SO most of these pictures do not need captions because they are self-explainatory: Beautiful! Everywhere we went!!!

Venice concluded our trip and we were happy to go home after 8 days of touring Italy, not going to lie, but glad to have left Italy with the best last memories of the beautiful city of Venice.

I do have to say, I was horribly sick while in Florence and Venice and while I was very good at hiding it in the pictures, I felt like awefulness. And I think I had the most wonderful traveling partner ever who was so flexible to my feeling like crap for 4 days. She let me go back to the hotel for naps each day and  take lots of breaks and be whiny, because, lets face it, when you're sick the last thing you want to do is be touring cities for 12 hours a day. She was so kind and patient and I couldn't have asked for a better person. Even besides being sick, she was wonderful! We not once fought or argued about anything, her strenghths were my weaknesses and vice versa which made the experience even that much more enjoyable. We were both laid back and easy going and just had so much fun! And I'm happy to announce that we are STILL FRIENDS after 8 days of just each other! haha! And we still have things to talk about (seriously, I was starting to wonder if we'd run out of topics after all that time together, ha) and might be traveling again together in the coming months!

Anyways, that concludes my trip to Italy. It was beautiful, amazing, fun, and crazy! I do plan on returning again in the future, but not the near future, and if any of you are planning a trip to Italy any time soon, you are free to ask any questions you might have...I learned a lot while on this trip and I learned a lot about how i'd do things differently if given the chance, not that i would take anything back for the world. Does that make sense? Anyways, thanks for partaking my fun holiday that was Italy!! Hope you enjoyed!!!

off to go watch the kids and continue to have adventures, just in Paris now!!!

Ciao!
